A VISIT BY STUDENTS OF NAVRACHNA SCHOOL, BARODA



On 5th December 2010 the Grade 12th students from Navrachna School, Baroda, visited Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa. They were introduced to the Dean Administration followed by an introductory session by Mr. Rony Kurien.

The introductory sessions were followed by presentations about Lavasa and Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa. These presentations elaborated on the different aspects of life at Lavasa and the hospitality education at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa. The faculty addressed the students on various aspects of career in the Hospitality Industry and education at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa.

Feedbacks were collected from the students and they were informed about the application process at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa. After the presentations the students were taken for a bus tour of Lavasa, followed by a delicious treat at the Subway.

Symposium on Higher Education

Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa was proud to be invited at the National Symposium to address the students on careers in Hospitality.

The Symposium jointly organized by ICTRC and St. George's College was held at St. George's College, Mussoorie. It was attended by 15 Schools, approximately 700 students (both from class 11 and 12) along with 50 teachers attended the symposium.

Ms. Yasmin Charania and Ms. Vandana Malhotra represented Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa as experts on Hospitality Management. The faculty from Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa generated a warm response with an interesting presentation on careers in hospitality. The symposium was very well organized and gave Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa a platform to interact with students and teachers. It also highlighted the various aspects of career in Hospitality Industry and education at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa.

The Symposium started with the inaugural address followed by the students being divided into 3 groups for presentations given by experts. This ensured that all the students assimilated the knowledge about different careers and programmes they could pursue.

It definitely was a great opportunity to impart information about Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa and the Hospitality Management Programme. A number of students were inclined towards a career in Hospitality Management after attending the presentations.

For first year students at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa, last week in October 2009 is quite memorable. Zipping across to Dubai for the largest education fair in the Middle East & Asia;GETEX – was an opportunity of a lifetime for these students.

GETEX centers around three important themes :

• Student Recruitment
• Education Equipment & Technology
• Careers & Training

In order to do so it brings together participating Universities from almost 40 different countries including: Australia, Canada, China, France, India , Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, UK and the US.
Teeming with more than 500 exhibitors, the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center drew close to 35,000 visitors from across the world. Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa students were given the opportunity to talk to potential employers from the service industry, attend information sessions, further enhance their skills and share their experiences with other youth from around the world looking for education options. Moreover, it was a chance to mingle with other young-ins attending similar courses across the world to compare notes:“What are classes like…..Any interesting faculty members?….Is the coursework heavy?…. Do they guarantee placements?….Do they offer campus interviews?”…… etc.
