For first year students at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa, last week in October 2009 is one that they’d never forget. Zipping across to Dubai for the largest education fair in the Middle East & Asia;GETEX – was an opportunity of a lifetime for these students.
GETEX centers around three important themes :
• Student Recruitment
• Education Equipment & Technology
• Careers & Training
In order to do so it brings together participating Universities from almost 40 different countries including: Australia, Canada, China, France, India , Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, UK and the US.
Teeming with more than 500 exhibitors, the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center drew close to 35,000 visitors from across the world. Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa students were given the opportunity to talk to potential employers from the service industry, attend information sessions, further enhance their skills and share their experiences with other youth from around the world looking for education options. Moreover, it was a chance to mingle with other young-ins attending similar courses across the world to compare notes:“What are classes like…..Any interesting faculty members?….Is the coursework heavy?…. Do they guarantee placements?….Do they offer campus interviews?”…… etc |
