Course: Accommodations Theory & Housekeeping Operations
“Housekeeping has always been viewed as a thankless blue-collared job. Over the years, the greatest challenge has been to inculcate the ‘dignity of labour’ and change people’s perception about Housekeeping.”
Anuradha Khot, a Bachelor in Home Science, started her career in hotel housekeeping 18 years ago with the Taj Group of Hotels after completing her Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology. Her consolidated experience comes from Operational housekeeping, housekeeping education and hospitality services. Over the years she acquired the knowledge of housekeeping operations in several areas such as guestrooms, linen, laundry, refurbishments and commissioning of new projects. Her greatest challenge was to meet the individual demands of guests while managing multiple guest houses for various corporate houses. She has also worked as a Corporate Housekeeper for a chain of fine dining restaurants. Her training experience started as a departmental trainer at the Taj Group of Hotels. She taught at housekeeping at a Hospitality Management college and was the external faculty coordinator. Anuradha has been undertaking consultancy projects with several well known Facility Management Companies. She is a Qualified Learning Facilitator from Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. Anuradha Khot’s pursuit now continues through education at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa, articles and seminars.
