A walk through the Open day at Lavasa : An Attendee’s Story.

11.00am.
At the Open Day myself, fellow students and parents were welcomed by the scenic grandeur and fresh breeze along with the students of Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa. We proceeded to the registration followed with refreshments.
11.30am.
We watched an introductory film on the hill city Lavasa, followed by a presentation about Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa. The presentation elaborated on the different aspects of life at Lavasa and the hospitality education at Ecole hoteliere Lavasa.
12.00 noon.
The students and faculty gave us a tour of the present Institute during which we visited classrooms & Wine Tasting Laboratory.
I was highly impressed by the training kitchen that is attached to the Earthen Oven Restaurant of Fortune Select Dasve, where students conduct their practical training sessions. It is a lavish fine dine restaurant.
We were also given a tour of the luxurious Fortune Select Dasve where Freddy Domnic Dass addressed the students and parents sharing his experience in the hospitality industry.
Later, we took a bus tour of Lavasa and visited Mercure where Food & Beverage practicals are conducted. Bandish Mehta, the General Manager of Mercure addressed the students and parents.
We resumed our Lavasa tour and took a walk on the promenade to explore the various food and beverage outlets, cafes & restaurants like American Diner, Chor Bazzare, Subway, and Natural Ice Cream among others.
We then advanced to Dasvino Town & Country Club. Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa has a corporate tie up with Dasvino and that gives the students exclusive luxury to relax at the magnificent Dasvino Town & Country Club, engaging in activities like swimming, playing pool, squash, lawn tennis, table tennis, PSII or simply lying by the swimming pool and soaking in the sun.
We had a sumptuous brunch at the Dasvino.
The students and faculty accompanied us through our expedition, highlighting various aspects and advantages of hospitality education at Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa.
Interestingly, Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa is one of the very few hospitality education institutes in India where students are exposed to and have access to a variety of Hospitality formats for their practical training – from budget to luxury hotels, wellness centers to sports academies, clubs and spas, located within the periphery of Lavasa.
I noticed that the equipment and facilities in all the business models are the latest & state-of-art. The students therefore get an immediate knowledge of the latest hospitality equipment & trends preparing them for professional setting from the very beginning.
Ecole Hoteliere Lavasa emphasizes on a well-rounded development of its students, providing platforms for various co-curricular activities and rejuvenation outlets in a natural environment along with practical training.
Open day did achieve its objective of introducing us to a world of hospitality and getting us to experience the best in hospitality education.
